Fixing a broken chair

Shadow, the resident artist among the color crew introduces his art style.

Hey there friend and neighbors!

Shadow here.

I wanted to explain the name for my chosen art style.

Fixing A Broken Chair

I start with a canvas,  I add a simple background. Then I begin the chaos phases.

I relax into it and let the canvas develop and lead me. I don’t shy away from mistakes, in fact I find mistakes often add that needed bit of resistance. While the painting itself is a goal, incorporating the mistake adds to the satisfaction I get from it, as it requires creativity and finesse to embrace it.

When your in a situation with a broken chair, and only a few tools and the materials that can be can scrounged, take the time to fix the chair.

Lean into it.

You’ll feel all the better for it, the satisfaction of a job complete and a chair to rest on.

If you find the chair needs more work, that’s a good thing. Learn, adapt your skills and your tools where needed.

Leg’s cracked down the center?

Can you bind it?

Can you take a replacement from somewhere else? If you need the chair to rest on, does that banister really need all those spindles?

Or maybe you make the chair work with fewer legs?

The point is to trust yourself, use what you have and don’t limit yourself to perfect. In fact perfect is just marketing. Science itself relies on ranges, imperfections.

Perfection in imperfection.

Fixing a broken chair is about trusting yourself enough to get the job done with the tools that you have. You can get caught up looking for tools the perfect tools when you already have the necessary tools.

There’s a learning curve involved.

And at times that can mean finding out the tools you had were appropriate for starting but now need refinement.

Don’t be afraid to evolve.

Starting in the first place is evolving.

A passive misery in the back of the mind is the souls fire alarm about its own burning stagnation. This misery can only be questioned through the refreshing waters.

In order to adapt to change one must evolve.

Always remember that whatever you’re going through, Shadow is with you.
